The Lincoln Group of DC is starting off 2024 with several fantastic events, most of them free! Please check our website and join us for the following upcoming programs:
Tuesday, January 16: A free Zoom-only presentation featuring Mississippi State Professor Andrew Lang talking about "Lincoln and the Origins of the New Birth of Freedom." RSVP Here
Friday, February 2: Christopher Newport University Professor Jonathan White will headline a free special event at Ford's Theatre that will include both discussions and dramatic readings of African American letters to Lincoln. Read more and see how to get free tickets here
Monday, February 12: Join us for the wreath laying ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial on Lincoln's Birthday! LGDC President David J. Kent will be introducing and reading the Gettysburg Address as part of the program, which starts at 11 am. Free.
Wednesday, February 21: Our Lincoln Birthday special joint meeting with the CWRTDC will feature renowned historian Harold Holzer discussing his newest book, Brought Forth on This Continent: Abraham Lincoln and American Immigration, at Ft.
