Once again, the Lincoln Group of DC is a proud supporter of the Abraham Lincoln Institute's annual ALI Symposium at historic Ford's Theatre. The event is Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is FREE to all with advance registration.
This full day of presentations is devoted to the latest in Lincoln scholarship and features presentations devoted to new books and studies about Lincoln and related themes. ALI is dedicated to promoting scholarship on the life, times, and legacy of Abraham Lincoln through this symposium, book and dissertation prizes, and a lifetime achievement award.
This year, 2025, will again feature a wide-ranging cast of speakers:
Hilary Green Unforgettable Sacrifice: How Black Communities Remembered the Civil War
Jon Grinspan Wide Awake: The Forgotten Force that Elected Lincoln and Spurred the Civil War
Harold Holzer Brought Forth on This Continent: Abraham Lincoln and American Immigration
Manisha Sinha The Rise and Fall of the Second American Republic, 1860-1920
Michael Vorenberg Lincoln's Peace: The Struggle to End the Civil War
After the final speaker, there will be a panel of all the speakers moderated by one of ALI's prominent members.
The symposium takes place at Ford's Theatre, is FREE, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
