Abraham Lincoln won reelection to the presidency in 1864, the first president in more than three decades to successfully do so. The Lincoln Group of DC had a record turnout for our October 15 program exploring two key aspects of the election of 1864 – the political upheaval leading deciding the party nominees and the critical soldier vote (watch the video here). But the states voting results of the election itself will be discussed on October 29. After considerable concern that Lincoln could not win reelection, he took a second term in a landslide. But…
